As the new season kicks off next weekend with the MTN8, Chiefs are going to be without their top goal scored Samir Nurkovic who is recovering from groin surgery.
Nurkovic apparently nursed his way through the last few games of last season, but required surgery to resolve the issue. As top goalscorer for Chief's lsat season with 13 goals in 26 league matches, the club will hoping that his absence won't affect their results as they take on Maritzburg United on Sunday, October 18, in the quarterfinals of the MTN8 at the FNB Stadium.
Nurkovic has been following an intensive rehab schedule, and has begun light non-contact training with the Chiefs' squad recently.
Chiefs issued a statement earlier this week rubbishing reports that Nurkovic had been made various offers by overseas clubs. He still has two more years left on his contract & no doubt is a key part of the Amakhosi's plans to win the DSTV Premier League.
SuperSport United have signed Mohomi on a 1-year-deal with option to extend for two more years.
