The 34-year-old Lehlohonolo Majoro has clawed his way back to being one of the first names on Ayanda Dlamini’s team sheet, after being cast aside by Jozef Vukusic during the Slovakian’s time in charge of the Durban based outfit.
"It’s not always easy but training hard and keeping your head down to focus on the task at hand always pays off. I’ve had to adapt my game as time has gone on, to keep up with the game and I know what I have to offer, so I’m happy the coach has noticed that and has shown faith in me."
The former Kaizer Chiefs, Cape Town City, Bidvest Wits and Bafana Bafana striker scored two goals and provided two assists since entering the bio bubble, helping Usuthu on their way to avoiding relegation or the Play-Off's this season.
Majoro has also given credit to Bongi Ntuli, who was the team's talisman during the 2019/2020 season, scoring 13 of the 20 league goals for Usuthu.
"The thing with Ntuli is that he is always a threat to the opposition, even when he’s having a bad game, he has the ability to create a moment of magic out of nothing. He has done it throughout this season and his numbers show that, the number of goals he has scored and assists he has provided, all that speaks for itself," said Majoro.
Amazulu played a 1-1 draw on the final match-day to ensure their Premiership status for next season, losing just once in the last quater under the guidance of coach Ayanda Dlamini.
"We can relate to Dlamini a lot better as a person and coach because we can see he is one of us. He has the ability to calm us down, hype us up and get the best out of us in those pressure situations. We believe in him and he believes in us." said Majoro
