Following Kaizer Chiefs announcing the contract termination of both head coach Ernst Middendorp and his assistant coach Shaun Bartlett, many fans on social media have urged the club to pursue Gavin Hunt.
Having completed Bidvest Wits final season in the Premiership in 4th position, the four-time Premiership winner is nowhere free to join any club following TTM's takeover of Bidvest Wits status.
Earlier in the season, when Gavin Hunt was initially linked with the job which Ernst Middendorp still occupied he said "It’s very unprofessional. They [Chiefs] have got somebody in place. They’re top of the league. But it’s not nice from my perspective because there’s nothing in it.”
All that was before Bidvest Wits sold their Premiership status and before the wheels came off for the German coach Ernst Middendorp after surrendering the league to Mamelodi Sundowns.
“No one (from Chiefs) has spoken to me,” said Hunt on Wednesday. “Right now I don’t want to comment on anything,” he added, when asked if he would potentially be interested in taking the job at Naturena.
However, according to Volley sources, Gavin Hunt's move to Naturena is iminent, however, the club are yet to officially announce a new head coach and will surely be setting up for the big announcement soon.
