Midfielder Cole Alexander, 31, is being linked with a reunion with new Kaizer Chiefs head coach Gavin Hunt during this transfer window.
The former Ajax Cape Town, Polokwane City, SuperSport United and Bidvest Wits midfielder enjoyed a successful 2019/20 season which even led to him receiving a Bafana Bafana call-up before football was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Following the sale of Bidvest Wits, teams like Amazulu and former club SuperSport United are said to have enquired about the Mitchell's Plain born footballer's services who also played a key role for the CleverBoys in their final Premiership matches last season, notably equalising in the final minute of their 1-1 draw with Kaizer Chiefs.
Former Bafana Bafana and Amakhosi head coach Stuart Baxter had also been interested in luring the midfielder to Indian Super League team Odisha FC as he tries to improve on a sixth place position for the club last season.
However, the deal with the Asian side seems to have been eclipsed by the opportunity for Cole Alexander to join the Soweto Giants as they try to break a five-year trophy drought under Gavin Hunt and his new technical team.

Kaizer Chiefs are currently awaiting the outcome of their transfer ban appeal, and should it be overturned, it is expected that the club completes the purchase of Cole Alexander as well as former Bidvest Wits team-mates Sifiso Hlanti and midfielder Thabang Monare.
