Pitso Mosimane has reportedly tendered his resignation as head coach of PSL champions Mamelodi Sundowns following interest from North African Giants Al Ahly and Wydad Casablanca.
Mosimane, who won his fifth South African championship with Sundowns last month, was apparently approached after he won Sundowns' 10th Premiership title on the final day of the 2019/20 season, in which the Brazilians overtook Kaizer Chiefs who had been on top of the league for over a year.
These news come as a shock to most fans because Mosimane had signed a five-year extension to his Sundowns contract as recently as May of this year.
The Chloorkop based club had gone on to win a controversial Nedbank Cup final whereafter they faced arbitration case due to naming the suspended Tebogo Langerman in the matchday squad.
The President of Mamelodi Sundowns, Dr Patrice Motsepe issued a statement yesterday apologising for the Langerman blunder and admitting that "Management and Technical Team were grossly negligent" and went as far as "threatening dismissal where the circumstances legally justify,".
It was not immediately clear how the club coach Pitso Mosimane will be joining and Sundowns will handle the four-year contract he still has with the Brazilians.
