Banyana Banyana defended their COSAFA Cup title after defeating Botswana 2-1 at Nelson Mandela Bay stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The South African ladies team showed their dominance in Southern African football as they clinched their fourth consecutive COSAFA Cup after beating Botswana in Port Elizabeth.
Banyana took a first minute lead through Sibulele Holwene, with her 8th goal of the tournament. The South Africans did not stop applying the pressure but Botswana goalkeeper Maitumelo Bosija restricted them to a 1-0 lead heading into half time.

The second half saw Mzansi continue to attack in the search of a second goal which eventually arrived via a Gabriela Salgado strike to extend Banyana Banyana's lead.
Botswana found what turned out to be a consolation goal on the 85th minute through Mokgabo Thanda but Banyana Banyana held on for the victory which gave them a fourth successive title.
