South Africa defeated lowly-ranked Sao Tome and Principe 2-0 in a 2022 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifier at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Friday.
The host controlled the majority of the first half but failed to be decisive in the final third, which allowed Sao Tome to come into the game near the end of the half, however they failed to test Bafana goalkeeper Ronwen Williams in goal.

Mzansi were then awarded a penalty in the 55th minute following a foul on Anderlect forward Percy Tau, who then got up to convert the penalty to give Bafana Bafana the lead.
Bafana then finally sealed the win through 65th minute substitute Bongani Zungu, who headed in a corner-kick to double the lead and seal the three points.

Mzansi will meet Sao Tome and Principe again on Monday 16 November, with the fixture set for Port Elizabeth's Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, kick-off is at 15:00.
