NEWS SCOOP: COLE CLOSE TO CHIEFS MOVE

Cole Alexander is set to join Kaizer Chiefs as the Soweto Giants continue with a revamp of their squad under new coach Stuart Baxter ahead of the 2021/22 season.

The well-travelled midfielder has been contracted to Indian Super League side Odisha FC, where he had linked up with current Amakhosi head coach Stuart Baxter, who left the side in February.

The 32-year-old went on to feature 15 times for Odisha FC, scoring three goals and providing one assist during his stint in Asia.

In the Premier Soccer League, the Capetonian has played for Ajax Cape Town, Vasco Da Gama, Chippa United, Polokwane City, SuperSport United and Bidvest Wits.

He has featured in 236 matches in all competitions in the Premier Soccer League, scoring 11 goals and providing 7 assists for the various clubs.

The central midfielder will bring a wealth of experience alongside Willard Katsande to a fairly young Amakhosi midfield, which features Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, 21, Njabulo Blom, 21, and 23-year-old Happy Mashiane.
