- Orlando Pirates have officially parted ways with long-time serving defender and captain Happy Jele. The 31-year-old holds the clubs record of the most appearances for the Buccaneers (429 matches) in all competitions. He has been linked with a switch to Royal AM.
- Former TS Galaxy striker Wayde Lekay has joined up in camp with Royal AM as he looks to seal a switch to a new club ahead of the 2022/23 season. The 25-year-old has also attracted interest from SuperSport United and Maritzburg United following an unsuccesful trial with Kaizer Chiefs.

- Former SuperSport United and Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Lucky Mohomi is on the verge of completing a return to the top-flight with Marumo Gallants after what has been seemingly a successful trial with the Limpopo-based outfit.
- Former Cape Town City and TS Galaxy midfielder Shane Roberts is reportedly impressing on trial with Royal AM ahead of the 2022/23 season. The 23-year-old recently had an unsuccessful trial at Sekhukhune United.
