Monday, 24 May, 2021

Bafana Bafana class of 96 legend,Eric Tinkler, has been appointed as the new Citizens head coach on a four-year-contract, in what will be his second stint with the club.

City had initially placed Dutch head coach Jan Olde Riekerink on "special leave" following an embarrassing 5-1 rout at home to Amazulu, who have been the most improved PSL side this season under the tutelage of another former City coach Benni McCarthy.

The Citizens who are currently seventh of the table, will be looking to cement their position in the top eight of the table, whilst also improving defensively, with City having the joint second worst defensive record in the league alongside Chippa United (36 goals conceded).
