NEWS SCOOP: BANYANA LEAVE MZANSI FOR CRUCIAL AWCON QUALIFIER

Monday, 18 October, 2021

The Mzansi women's team travels to the Mozambican capital today (Monday) for Wednesday’s crucial African Women's Cup of Nations qualifier match at Estadio Nacional do Zimpeto.

Banyana Banyana coach Desiree Ellis named a strong 18-woman squad to take on Mozambique in the first round of the AWCON qualifiers on Wednesday in Maputo.

The South African team will be buoyed by the return of their overseas based stars, Thembi Kgatlana (Athletico Madrid), Hildah Magaia (Moron BK), Refiloe Jane (AC Milan) and Lebohang Ramalepe (Dinamo Minsk), who recently missed an underwhelming Cosafa Cup title defence for the ladies following their impressive Aisha Buhari Cup win in Nigeria.
