NEWS SCOOP: A BREAKDOWN OF ALL 38 PSL BASED STARS 2022 WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS PERFORMANCES

A total of 38 players plying their trade in the DStv Premiership were involved in the recent 2022 World Cup qualifers.

PSL based players produced a mixed bag of results with the South African players enjoying the best success with a 100 percent win rate in their two clashes against Ethiopia.

Surprisingly, Baroka are tied with Kaizer Chiefs in terms of the number of representatives (six each) during the FIFA international break, however, the Bakgakga stars managed to get more minutes.

The locally based players contributed a total of five goals during the October 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

Amazulu

Veli Mothwa - Did not play in 3-1 win away vs Ethiopia. Did not play in 1-0 win at home vs Ethiopia

Limbikani Mzava (Malawi) - Substituted in the 62nd minute of 3-0 loss at home vs Ivory Coast. Did not play in 2-1 loss away vs Ivory Coast.

Baroka 

Evidence Makgopa - Came on as a 79th minute substitute and scored in the 3-1 win away vs Ethiopia. Played the full match in the 1-0 win at home vs Ethiopia.

Manuel Kambala (Mozambique)- Played full match in 3-1 loss away v Cameroon. Played full match in the 1-0 loss at home v Cameroon.

Gerald Phiri Jr (Malawi) - Played full match in 3-0 loss at home v Ivory Coast. came on as a 66th minute substitute in the 2-1 loss away v Ivory Coast.

Richard Mbulu (Malawi) - Came on as a 53rd minte substitute and received an 87th minute yellow card in 3-0 loss at home vs Ivory Coast. Did not play in 2-1 loss away v Ivory Coast.

Joslin Kamatuka (Namibia) - Came on as a 70th minute sube and scored in the 4-1 loss away v Senegal. Played the full match in the 3-1 loss at home v Senegal.

Ananias Gerbhardt (Namibia) - Played the full match in the 4-1 loss away v Senegal. Substituted in the 44th minute of the 3-1 loss at home v Senegal.

Rian Hanamub (Namibia) - Played the full match and received a yellow card in the 4-1 loss away v Senegal. Played full match in the 3-1 loss at home v Senegal.

Thabani Zuke - Came on as a 90th minute substitute in the 3-1 win away vs Ethiopia. Came on as a 65th minute substitute and received a 89th minute yellow card in the 1-0 win at home vs Ethiopia.

Knox Mutizwa (Zimbabwe) - Substituted in the 86th minute of 3-1 loss away v Ghana. Came on as a 63rd minute substitute in the 1-0 loss at home v Ghana.

Kaizer Chiefs

Njabulo Ngcobo - Did not play in the 3-1 win away vs Ethiopia. Played the full match in the 1-0 win at home vs Ethiopia
